The next generation of speed is here with their biggest jump in the speed-inducing driver. Introducing Ping G430 Drivers. Go Farther. Faster.

The first week on tour saw record numbers with the new G430 driver, especially in ball speeds, giving their tour staff players to make the transition to the latest model.

As well as their distance gains, Ping also believe their G430 range of drivers remain unequalled for forgiveness. More distance and unrivalled forgiveness are certainly going to be attractive statements for golfers in 2023.

Following on from the previous models, the G430 keeps 3 heads in the line with the MAX (draw bias) the SFT (Straight flight technology) and LST (Low spin technology).

The Technology

Optimised T9S+ Forged Face

A shallower, variable-thickness face is thinner for generating faster ball speed for our biggest distance gains to date.

Carbonfly Wrap

Exclusive to the 440cc LST is Carbonfly Wrap, a lightweight composite that covers the crown and wraps into the heel and toe sections of the skirt to save weight and lower the CG for more ball speed and higher MOI.

Sound Engineering

A new internal rib structure and increased curvature of the crown, skirt and sole fine-tunes clubbed frequencies to produce a desirable sound and impact experience.

Spinsistency

Contributing to the added ball speed is a variable roll radius that improves performance across the T9S+ forged face by reducing spin, resulting in faster speeds that generate consistently longer drives.

CG Shifters

In the MAX, a 25-gram, high-density tungsten backweight influences shot shape ±8 yards between Draw, Neutral and Fade settings. The LST (low spin) model provides ±7 yards of movement from a 22-gram tungsten weight in the three settings.

Straight Flight Technology

New to the SFT head is a moveable, 22-gram, tungsten backweight that positions the CG to deliver 13 yards of right-to-left shot bend in the Draw setting and another 7 yards in the Draw+ (20 yards total).

Forgiving Heads

Each of the models is engineered to ensure added distance and forgiveness for a variety of skill levels. The MAX (460cc) is the most forgiving and fits the widest range of golfers with three loft options (9°, 10.5°, 12°). The SFT (460cc) produces right-to-left shot correction in one loft (10.5°). At 440cc, the smaller tour-style LST is available in 9° and 10.5° lofts and best fits faster swing speeds.

Adjust Loft & Lie

To customise ball flight, Trajectory Tuning 2.0 utilizes a lightweight, aerodynamic hosel sleeve that provides eight positions, adjusting for loft (±1.5°) and lie (up to 3° flatter than std.).

G430 High launch Build

In comparison testing, slower-swing-speed golfers gained an average of nine yards off the tee from faster ball speed generated by the lighter system weight of the HL custom build (11g backweight, lightweight PING ALTA Quick shaft, Lamkin UTx grip). Available in the MAX and SFT only.

The NEW Callaway PARADYM Series Is Here. With Unparalleled Distance, Unmatched Feel and Increased Performance.

It’s a new year and a new season, so it would only be fitting if there were some new clubs to talk about… and we are very excited to talk about these. The new Paradym series from Callaway is here.

In this launch we are being spoiled! 3 new drivers, 3 new fairways, 2 new hybrids and 2 irons models to sink our teeth into!

In this short blog we will highlight what to expect in this years Callaway launch along with when you can begin to test it.

DRIVERS

FAIRWAYS

“To create a true breakthrough in performance, Callaway’s engineers have reimagined how a fairway wood is constructed. For golfers, it’s a total Paradym shift in distance and forgiveness. This completely new construction eliminates weight from the body and repositions it for unprecedented gains in speed and MOI. Plus, every model has been uniquely designed with a specific player in mind to fully maximize their performance”.

The NEW PING i230 Irons! Worth The Wait

Performance packed, tour proven and worth the wait. The new PING i230 irons are here.

Upgrading the i210 we now see the i230 enter the market and our fitting studios at each AFGolfStore.

A simplistic look and very easy on the eye, however the technology inside is where it’s really beauty lies.

It has a multi-material, 5 piece construction with tungsten toe and tip weights, a concealed activated elastomer insert and multi-part cavity badge along with the 431 stainless steel body which gives impressive results. Including :

More distance and control due to the elastomer insert. And with more control comes fantastic feel. You will certainly notice the solid feedback it produces at impact.

Increased MOI along with lower Centre of gravity which will help tighten dispersion and add to the control of the ball.

The iron has a rounded lead edge from ample bounce and turn interaction.

MICROMAX GROOVES

Trade marked to PING, the micromax grooves

offer consistent launch and spin with the longer irons to give each player a higher chance and controlling dispersion. The short irons will see more control and spin retention, particularly in wet conditions with their all-weather control.

Meet The New Titleist TSR Driver

FIND YOUR FASTER

This years tag line from Titleist is ‘find your faster’ as they have worked hard to increase ball speeds with their new driver on the market. Meet TSR.

With new face technology and aerodynamic features, Titleist have found speed without hurting performance.

Evolving from TSi, Titleist have introduced 3 new heads, featuring the TSR2, TSR3 and TSR4.

All looking for faster, longer and straighter ball flights through an improved aero dynamic look and advanced face technology.

TSR 2 and 4 feature variable face thickness , which allows for a thicker centre spot with a thinner perimeter, allowing for increased ball speeds in any location of the face. While the TSR3 offers ring variable thickness. This is centred more around precision, with better golfers benefitting from centre face strikes.

WHAT DOES R STAND FOR?

At its core, the ‘R’ in TSR stands for refined. A declaration of TSR as the ultimate expression of the Titleist speed project. It could equally stand for the repeatable distance TSR provides with speed that shows up on every swing. Or reputation, for the legacy TSR builds on as the latest in a Titleist driver line that has

been #1 on tour for three years running. However, what matters most is that TSR is the right driver for more players than ever.” ~ Titleist

Each head is slightly different in size and appearance, to showcase a driver for every player.

TSR2 has the biggest head with an elongated profile for more speed and forgiveness.
TSR3 is built for precision, with the COG position for optimal ball speeds from players who can offer repeatable centred strikes.
TSR4 is the lowest spinning driver with a weight track to alter MOI and effect the spin.

In comparison to TSi, there are increased ball speeds through the aerodynamic improvements and better placed COG for optimal speed. Our very own AFGolfStore, Titleist ambassador, Ollie Fullerton saw the results for himself as they he was fitted at the Titleist national fitting centre.

OUR VERDICT

Our fitting at the national fitting centre was a fantastic eye opener to the product and the changes made since TSi.

The three heads all gave impressive results, speed being the obvious improvement. And with 5 shafts to work with it was great to narrow down to the one that gave each player their optimal performance, i.e. longer, straighter, faster shots.

Every player will find a spec to help their game, as the beauty of modern technology is that each new model now comes with a variety of options, from head shape multiple shaft choices.

It is a must try!
