Introducing Ping G430 Drivers. Go Farther. Faster.

The next generation of speed is here with their biggest jump in the speed-inducing driver. Introducing Ping G430 Drivers. Go Farther. Faster.

The first week on tour saw record numbers with the new G430 driver, especially in ball speeds, giving their tour staff players to make the transition to the latest model.

As well as their distance gains, Ping also believe their G430 range of drivers remain unequalled for forgiveness. More distance and unrivalled forgiveness are certainly going to be attractive statements for golfers in 2023.

Following on from the previous models, the G430 keeps 3 heads in the line with the MAX (draw bias) the SFT (Straight flight technology) and LST (Low spin technology).

the top high-speed drivers of 2023

The Technology

Optimised T9S+ Forged Face

A shallower, variable-thickness face is thinner for generating faster ball speed for our biggest distance gains to date.

Carbonfly Wrap

Exclusive to the 440cc LST is Carbonfly Wrap, a lightweight composite that covers the crown and wraps into the heel and toe sections of the skirt to save weight and lower the CG for more ball speed and higher MOI.

Sound Engineering

A new internal rib structure and increased curvature of the crown, skirt and sole fine-tunes clubbed frequencies to produce a desirable sound and impact experience.

Spinsistency

Contributing to the added ball speed is a variable roll radius that improves performance across the T9S+ forged face by reducing spin, resulting in faster speeds that generate consistently longer drives.

CG Shifters

In the MAX, a 25-gram, high-density tungsten backweight influences shot shape ±8 yards between Draw, Neutral and Fade settings. The LST (low spin) model provides ±7 yards of movement from a 22-gram tungsten weight in the three settings.

Straight Flight Technology

New to the SFT head is a moveable, 22-gram, tungsten backweight that positions the CG to deliver 13 yards of right-to-left shot bend in the Draw setting and another 7 yards in the Draw+ (20 yards total).

Forgiving Heads

Each of the models is engineered to ensure added distance and forgiveness for a variety of skill levels. The MAX (460cc) is the most forgiving and fits the widest range of golfers with three loft options (9°, 10.5°, 12°). The SFT (460cc) produces right-to-left shot correction in one loft (10.5°). At 440cc, the smaller tour-style LST is available in 9° and 10.5° lofts and best fits faster swing speeds.

Adjust Loft  & Lie

To customise ball flight, Trajectory Tuning 2.0 utilizes a lightweight, aerodynamic hosel sleeve that provides eight positions, adjusting for loft (±1.5°) and lie (up to 3° flatter than std.).

G430 High launch Build

In comparison testing, slower-swing-speed golfers gained an average of nine yards off the tee from faster ball speed generated by the lighter system weight of the HL custom build (11g backweight, lightweight PING ALTA Quick shaft, Lamkin UTx grip). Available in the MAX and SFT only.

AFGolfStore’s Masters Moments

AFGolfStore's Masters Moments

It is that time of year again! The sun is beginning to shine, the course is getting more colour and the greens are getting faster and we’re playing more golf. The season has begun and now we can look forward to the first major of the year. This is ‘AFGolfStore’s Masters Moments’.

After the 2020 Masters was played in November, we had a very short wait for the 2021 edition in April, which bought along so much excitement with back-to-back Masters. The wait this time around has felt like an eternity and the excitement for the new season of golf is again, beginning to ramp up. The thoughts of watching the back 9 on Sunday, will he or won’t he avoid water on 12, can he win it? The wait is still on to see if Tiger Woods can make it for this years event, however whilst we wait, let’s take a look back at some of the memorable moments in the Masters, of which, Tiger brings us a moment of magic!

We could go on for weeks about the best moments in the Masters and there have been so many that go back generations, but we are going to keep this to recent times and only 3 moments, so our younger readers can enjoy the trip down memory lane too, but, if you have a moment to share, let us hear it!

NUMBER ONE

We will begin with the big cat, Tiger Woods. Conversations just on his moments alone would go on forever, from the chip in on 16 to send him on the way to claim the 2005 Masters to the incredible 2001 win that saw Tiger gain his 4th Major in a row and become the first golfer to hold all 4 majors at one time, now known as the ‘Tiger Slam’. However, when we talk Tiger, we don’t have to go back very far to one of the most incredible comeback stories in golf and perhaps sporting history.

Tiger birdied three holes in a four-hole stretch, including a tap-in on the par-3 16th in the 2019 Masters. He played with calmness and made calculated decisions, seamlessly drawing his opponents into mistakes . Watching him hit his approach into 18, we could all breath a sigh of relief as we realised he was going to finally win again. After multiple operations and mountains to climb to get back to this moment of winning, it was just superb to see Tiger celebrate with his son, Charlie, years after we all watched him win for the first time and live out those exact celebrations with his father.

NUMBER TWO

Practising a shot over and over again until you can do it under pressure is one of the most rewarding skills as a golfer, however, what about hitting a shot you’ve never practiced, for a green jacket? Our number two is the mind blowing wedge in a play-off from Bubba Watson.  A 52-degree wedge on hole 10 from the trees… deep into the trees! From 144 yards, hooking 40 yards, to 15 feet of the hole! 10 years on, we are all still wondering, how!? Few would have even thought of the shot let alone been able to pull it off.

NUMBER THREE

In 2017, we all got behind Sergio Garcia. A fan favourite for so many years finally got the win that we all hoped he would. A win over England’s Justin Rose in a one hole playoff saw one of the more emotional celebrations in modern Masters history. 19 starts without a win, what once looked unlikely when he shot onto the tour. There was an expectation upon him to follow in Seve’s footsteps. Watching Sergio, for so many years, the nearly man. It almost felt like something was going to ruin the day for him and it would just be another occasion, but to see that putt roll in on 18 was a very special moment.

So there are three of AFGolfStore’s Masters Moments. What is your favourite?

Visit us in your local store, we love to chat all things golf.

Callaway Rogue ST Joins AFGolfStore

Callaway Rogue ST max LS

Callaway say its there fastest, most stable driver ever! The Rogue ST hits out shelves at AFGolfStore across all three sites on March 4th 2022.

There slogan is Think Speed, Go Rogue:

The new Rogue ST Drivers represent a breakthrough in driver performance. Callaway’s industry-leading innovations, including our Tungsten Speed Cartridge, Jailbreak Speed Frame, and an A.I. designed Flash Face are engineered for maximum speed with exceptional levels of forgiveness.”  ~ Callaway Golf

The new driver comes in four models to ensure there is a driver for every golfer:

MAX D – A dedicated draw model for players who need the most shot shape correction.

MAX – Our best combination of distance and forgiveness to fit the majority of players.

MAX LS –  Stronger trajectory, lower spin and more neutral ball flight compared to Rogue ST MAX.

TRIPLE DIAMOND LS – A tour proven compact, low spin head with a neutral-to-fade bias for better players.

Three key areas of improvement feature in the Rogue ST:

Tungsten Speed Cartridge – Increased speed, stability and forgiveness.

AFGolfStore Rogue ST

JAILBREAK A.I Speed Frame – Offering stability and speed.

AFGolfStore Rogue ST

A.I Designed Face – Increased forgiveness and lower spin.

AFGolfStore Rogue ST

Upon testing the product on its launch in January we found it to be a very solid, compact feel with incredible forgiveness. Ball speeds were as promised, an improvement on the previous Rogue model and certainly an advanced feel on Mavrik and Epic. We love the way it frames the golf ball, which does vary slightly dependant on the head you go for.

We have found it to be extremely popular in fittings already this year due to its wide range of models. In particular the better player seeing huge gains with the triple diamond ls. Our opinion is if you know you want to try Rogue ST this season, then ensure you try all four models out to find the right match for you.

We are certain you will enjoy hitting this driver and look forward to seeing how it performs this season.
