Meet The Ryder Cup’s Team USA

Team Europe have been victorious in 7 of the last 10 Ryder Cups, with questions asked about the team cohesion between the U.S team over the past decade. On paper, Team USA always tend to head into a Ryder Cup the stronger party, but for whatever reason, recent history hasn’t been so kind to them.

However, that changed at Whistling Straits in 2021, when Steve Stricker triumphed with a devastating 19-9 victory over Team Europe!

This year will again bring a new found belief in Team USA, however Europe will be ready! It’s time to meet the Ryder Cup’s Team USA

Zach Johnson is ready to lead his team in Rome

In ranking order of the Official World Rankings, here is team USA.

Team USA have the World’s best player on their side as well as the most Top 10 players with 6 players, half of their team. 4 of the team are rookies with Wyndham Clark, Brian Harman, Max Homa and Sam Burns all making their first appearance.

Titleist is the most played driver within the team with 50% of the group playing a Titleist model, ranging from TS, TSi and TSR.

Brooks Koepka is the only player within the 24 man field from the controversial LIV tour to make the trip to Rome. This comes after speculation that no LIV tour player would be welcomed onto either side for this years contest. However, with incredible form over 2023 including a Major win at the PGA Championship, Brooks made himself impossible to ignore for Captain Zach Johnson.

Every brand played by Team USA is available in our stores for a FREE custom fitting using Trackman.

Scottie Scheffler’s 2022 Masters Winning WITB

A week on from a memorable Masters, we look at Scottie Scheffler’s 2022 Masters Winning WITB. A week of many talking points has passed since Scottie Scheffler donned the Green Jacket for his first time, and on current form, you would suggest it’s the first of many!

What was your favourite moment of the weekend? There are so many to choose from including the return of Tiger Woods! Another come back, only this time he didn’t need a victory to capture the hearts of his fans. To see him just playing again after a horrible accident last year left us wondering if we’d ever see the Sunday red shirt again! Perhaps you enjoyed the incredible display from Rory on Sunday? It has got us excited about a potential return to form! However, whatever your favourite moment was, one man stole the show, with what looked like an effortless display of golf all weekend long. You must be good if you can 4 putt the last to claim your first Major win. So with that in mind, let’s look at what equipment helped Scottie to his 4th win in only 6 starts in 2022.

Whats In The Bag

Driver: TaylorMade Stealth Plus (8 degrees @7.5)
Shaft: Fujikura Ventus Black 7 X

Hitting 43 / 56 fairways over 4 days is a must around Augusta. Everyone knows Augusta for the greens, but positioning yourself on the green starts by having the right shot in… preferably off the fairway!

3-wood: TaylorMade Stealth Plus (16.5 degrees @15)
Shaft: Fujikura Ventus Black 8 X

Utility: Srixon Z U85 (3)
Shaft: Nippon Pro Modus3 Hybrid Tour X

Irons: Srixon ZU85 (4), TaylorMade P7TW (5-PW)
Shaft: True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100

49 / 72 greens hit over the 4 days, which was 11% higher than the field average!

Wedges: Titleist Vokey Design SM8 (50-12F, 56-14F, 60-06K)
Shafts: True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue S400

Putter: Scotty Cameron Special Select Timeless Tour type GSS Prototype

Putting average of 1.53 putts per hole, which was 5th on the list of players.

Based on the weekend stats, Scottie was the most steady players across the board. He found the least amount of trouble and looked in control of his game, mindset and clubs all weekend.

So, that’s another win for Scottie and another win for the TaylorMade Stealth driver this season. If you are looking for equipment that you can rely on under pressure, then we have the perfect solution for you. FREE CUSTOM FITTING
