2024 Scotty Cameron Phantom Lineup – High Quality Putter for Every Golfer

Welcome to AF Golf Store! In this blog, we will be discussing the new 2024 Scotty Cameron Phantom lineup that have now rolled into our 3 stores in Cambridge, Peterborough and Milton Keynes.

Scotty Cameron is an engineer and designer who has made several refinements to these putters. The lineup consists of 10 models, each offering unique features to improve your putting game. Let’s dive deeper into the details and see how these putters can help you hold more putts!

Milling and Materials

Scotty Cameron has meticulously engineered each part of the putter to ensure the golfer addresses the ball in a square motion. The putters in the lineup come with different alignment aids such as dots, lines, and multiple lines to help you set up the putter in the best square position possible.

The putters are manufactured with a stainless steel body and an aluminium plate underneath. The distribution of these materials varies across the products. As we move into the larger heads (which can be denoted by the higher numbers), there is more black aluminium to shift the weight from the middle of the head towards the perimeter. This design choice makes the larger heads more forgiving and stable.

Consistent Face Construction

All models in the Scotty Cameron Phantom lineup feature a dual-milled face construction. The face has a deep milling within the head, with a very small mill in between the thicker mills. This construction offers significant benefits for average golfers.

It provides a clear indication of where the ball was struck on the face. A centred strike produces a great response, letting you know that you’ve hit a good centre putt. If you strike the ball towards the heel or toe, the feedback helps you understand your strike location. This feature is especially useful for improving pace control on future putts.

Variety of Head Sizes

The Scotty Cameron Phantom lineup offers a range of head sizes. The number assigned to each model indicates the head size, with larger numbers representing larger heads. For example, the “five” model features a small fang design and the “eleven” model has the largest head. This simple numbering system allows golfers to easily identify the desired head size for their preferences.

Neck Design and Face Balance

One common question about Scotty Cameron putters is why some models have decimals in their names, like “5.5”. The answer lies in the neck design. The “five” models typically have a short slant neck, which creates a bit more toe hang. On the other hand, the whole number models, such as “five”, have a longer neck system and generally play more face balanced. It’s important to note that even face balanced Scotty Putters have a slight amount of toe hang. This design choice ensures versatility for golfers with different putting preferences.

Customisation Options

While putters may not have as many customisation options as drivers or irons, there are still a few aspects that can be tailored to suit your needs. The first aspect to consider is the length of the putter. Getting the right length plays a crucial role in setting your eye position correctly, usually about an inch inside the head where the shaft meets the head itself.

Weight is another customisable feature in Scotty Cameron putters. The putters come with two weight ports in the bottom, allowing for some adjustments to make the putter slightly heavier depending on the model and length. This option is beneficial for golfers who prefer more head weight or tend to leave putts short.

Lastly, the grip is the only part of the putter that you physically hold onto. Scotty Cameron offers a new putter grip with a paddle design, slightly thicker in the bottom hand. Additionally, there are other grip options available from Scotty Cameron as well as third-party grips offered by AF Golf Store.

Conclusion

No matter your skill level or putting style, there is a Scotty Cameron putter in the Phantom lineup for you. With their meticulous engineering, high-quality materials, and various customisation options, these putters are designed to improve your putting performance.

Visit AF Golf Store and explore the Scotty Cameron Phantom range to find the perfect putter that suits your game, and if this range doesn’t suit you then you can look at the Special Select models offering more blade style option.

A free custom fitting will give the answers and they can be booked in any store here!

Scotty Cameron Phantom Putter Review

Welcome back to our blog! Today, we are going to take a closer look at the new Scotty Cameron Phantom putter.

The Scotty Cameron Phantom range is one of the most popular ranges of putters out there. With ten models in the new range, including the long design model set to be released in the middle of May, these putters are definitely worth considering.

What’s New with the Scotty Cameron Phantom Putter?

When it comes to putters, Scotty Cameron doesn’t make drastic changes. However, the design of the new Phantom putters does have some noticeable differences. The sight line has been improved with the addition of dots and lines, making it easier for golfers to align their shots. The feel of the putter remains consistent with the Scotty Cameron feel, thanks to the stainless steel face. Overall, the Scotty Cameron Phantom putter is visually appealing and well-built.

One notable change in the new models is the grip. While some golfers may prefer the traditional winn style grip, Scotty Cameron has opted for a rubber grip this time. The grip has a unique shape and ensures complete contact, but its unconventional design may not be to everyone’s liking.

Taking the Scotty Cameron Phantom Putter for a Spin

Now, let’s talk about how the Scotty Cameron Phantom putter performs on the green. We had the opportunity to try out the 5.5 and 9.5 models. The new 9.5 model caught our attention with its wing-back design, reminiscent of Batman. The slightly smaller head of the 9.5 model appealed to us, as we were used to playing with the 5.5 model. When we placed the putters on the ground, they sat nicely and looked sleek, just as we would expect from a Scotty Cameron putter.

Initially, the grip didn’t feel fantastic, but after a few putts, it started to grow on us. However, it’s essential to note that these putters come with a hefty price tag. At £429, they are not cheap. Although some competitor brands have brought down prices, Scotty Cameron has maintained its premium positioning. But if the putter delivers on performance, the price may be justified.

When it comes to feel, it can be subjective. As a golfer, we enjoyed putting with the standard mil face, which aligns with our personal preferences. The Scotty Cameron Phantom putter offers a great feel that complements our putting style. However, it’s important to remember that feel varies from golfer to golfer, so it’s best to try out different putters and see what works for you.

Customisation and Price

Scotty Cameron putters don’t offer extensive customisation options. While there are a few length options (33, 34, and 35), the grip and other aspects remain relatively unchanged. Additionally, most Scotty Cameron putters are pre-built in the US and imported into the UK. Therefore, customisation is limited.

Now, let’s discuss the price. The Scotty Cameron Phantom putter is priced at £429, which is considerably higher than many competitors in the market. While other brands, like Odyssey and TaylorMade, offer similar high-tech features at a lower price point, Scotty Cameron maintains its premium image. It’s essential to consider if the performance justifies the price tag.

Overall Performance and Conclusion

When it comes to performance, the Scotty Cameron Phantom putter offers a wide range of options with its seven different models. From alignment aids to different head designs, there is something for everyone. The overall performance of the putter is impressive, particularly for those who prefer the Scotty Cameron style. However, it’s crucial to compare it with other options in the market, such as the Odyssey AI range or the TaylorMade Spider, which offer similar features at a lower price.

In conclusion, the Scotty Cameron Phantom putter is a fantastic upgrade from the original Phantom range. Its sleek design, consistent feel, and range of options make it a top choice for many golfers. However, the high price point may deter some buyers. It’s crucial to consider your budget and try out different putters to find the one that suits your preferences and helps improve your putting game. Remember, confidence plays a significant role in putting, so choose a putter that makes you feel comfortable and confident on the greens.

The AF Golf Score for the Scotty Cameron Phantom Putter

Let’s summarise our review by scoring the Scotty Cameron Phantom putter based on different factors:

  • Look: 9/10
  • Feel: 9/10
  • Custom Options: 5/10
  • Price: 5/10
  • Overall Performance: 7/10

Based on our scores, the Scotty Cameron Phantom putter receives an AF Golf Score of 35 out of 50. We hope you found this review helpful in making your putter-buying decisions. Introducing The NEW MONOBLOK Limited Edition Putters From Scotty Cameron

Only a matter of weeks after Scotty Cameron released their incredible Jet Set Limited Edition range, they have now released their next Limited range and we cant wait to get these putters in store!

Introducing the NEW MONOBLOK putters!

With a passion for creating putters that perform at golf’s highest levels, Scotty Cameron introduces the new MONOBLOK 6 and MONOBLOK 6.5 putters. Made in a limited run and inspired by the continued success of tour professionals playing previous generation GOLO models on the worldwide tours, these rounded mallets are reminiscent of GOLO designs, yet offer a new, sought-after head size in two, purpose-specific neck and shaft configurations. Inspired by an iconic automotive wheel crafted from a single block of metal, Scotty named these MONOBLOK to celebrate his tradition of milling putters from solid 303 stainless steel.

Designed, precision milled and assembled in the United States, each new Limited Release MONOBLOK putter incorporates Scotty’s customizable stainless steel sole weights, as well as an aluminum sole plate designed to optimize weight distribution, shifting weight to the perimeter of the putter head for balance, stability and forgiveness. ~ Titleist

MONOBLOK 6

With its rounded compact mallet shape based on earlier GOLO putters, the MONOBLOK 6 is sized in between the GOLO 5 and 7 models with a mid-bend shaft for a nearly face balanced setup. Precision milled from a single block of 303 stainless steel, the MONOBLOK 6 has an integrated sole plate machined from 6061 aircraft aluminum. Seamlessly fused to the body, this configuration allowed Scotty to design more solid stainless steel into the face and perimeter, increasing MOI, balance and feel. The limited release MONOBLOK 6 has a solid face, misted stainless steel finish, adjustable performance balanced stainless steel sole weighting and includes a Pistolero Plus grip and a MONOBLOK headcover.

MONOBLOK 6.5

With the same dimensions as the MONOBLOK 6, Scotty’s new MONOBLOK 6.5 was designed with a jet neck for players who favor a putting stroke with a bit of toe flow. The key to maintaining the same size, shape and overall head weight with a different neck is the integrated sole plate. Precision milled from 6061 aircraft aluminum and lightly misted with clear anodization, this engineered component allows the solid stainless steel to be distributed properly for increased MOI, balance and feel. The limited release MONOBLOK 6.5 has a solid face, misted stainless steel finish, adjustable performance balanced stainless steel sole weighting and includes a Pistolero Plus grip and a MONOBLOK headcover.

The MONOBLOK 6 and MONOBLOK 6.5 putters extend Scotty Cameron’s proven construction methodology of incorporating complementary materials to achieve desired performance characteristics. Each model employs a precision milled 6061 aircraft grade aluminum sole plate expertly designed into the 303 stainless steel putter head, which allows for higher MOI, optimal weight distribution, superior balance and excellent feel.

Scotty Cameron Phantom X Has Evolved

The Scotty Cameron Phantom X has evolved with a new launch of putters this season, but what is different in the latest edition of putters from Titleist.

10 new putters have and will continue to be released between April and June, upgrading previous models as well as introducing new looks with fresh performance benefits, from new head shapes, grip designs as well and graphic upgrades, the fresh look is certainly a putter to be admired.

The models include: 5 | 5.5 | 5s | 7 | 7.5 | 9 | 9.5 | 11 | 11.5 | 12

As we write this blog we have already seen half of the putters join our stores. They look incredible and combined with the classic Scotty Cameron feel we are certain these putters are going to be big performers this season. With the introduction of new models, there is an option for all players. From different neck types, offering a different toe hang option to a variety of head sizes with increased MOI.

WHAT DOES SCOTTY CAMERON SAY?

“Each time I develop a line of putters, the new models go into the hands of the best players in the world. From Tour players, we get critical insight into what works for them – what they are looking for – both overall and specifically. From the type of neck configurations to topline thickness, to the sound and feel from the various types of materials and metal we use, professionals know what they want. And I’ve always taken my design cues from what the best in the world demand. With these new Phantom X mallets, I have the benefit of the past few years of input from players and a line that’s already established on Tour. The 2022 Phantom X mallets feature the ‘greatest hits’ of what we’ve developed – the solid stainless-steel faces, the new necks, the new shapes – rolled out in high-end, premium precision milled mallets designed to inspire us all to play better. I believe there’s a putter in this line that will appeal to just about every mallet player.”

2022 PHANTOM X TECHNOLOGY

Each new 2022 Phantom X putter is an integration of steel and aluminium, with nine of the 10 models engineered specifically with a solid, precision-milled 303 stainless steel face and body that’s expertly fused with a 6061 aircraft grade aluminium sole and flange component. The new Phantom X 12 employs an aluminium face/sole with stainless steel wings for maximum MOI, while its slimmed down flange section and extended alignment create a longer-looking, easier-to-aim update to the prior model.

SOLID STAINLESS STEEL FACE/BODY CONSTRUCTION

Precision milled in the United States from a block of solid 303 stainless steel, the new Phantom X 5, 5.5, 5s, 7, 7.5, 9, 9.5, 11 and 11.5 models were designed with a solid stainless steel face that is carried through to the body/wings and integrated with an aluminium sole/flange component for performance and playability with consistent sound and soft feel.

PRECISION MILLED, TOUR-INSPIRED SHAPES

Designed with feedback from touring professionals – and validated with multiple victories around the world in 2021 – the new 2022 Phantom X mallets further express player preferences with features like precision milled solid stainless steel faces, sleek putter head profiles, refined alignment cues, high durability finishes, and specific shaft and neck configurations.

SHAFT/NECK CONFIGURATIONS

The refreshed Phantom X 11.5 will continue to feature a low-bend stepless steel shaft installed over a milled topline spud, while the updated Phantom X 7.5 and all-new Phantom X 9.5 will employ small slant/jet necks like the recently revamped Phantom X 5.5. The Phantom X 5, 7, 9, 11 and 12 models each have a stepless steel shaft engineered to minimise face rotation with a single mid-bend aimed directly down the target line. The summer-release Phantom X 5s has a straight step-less steel shaft installed near the centre point of the top-line with zero offset.
