Our testing took place at Milton Keynes, where we had the opportunity to try both the standard and HL versions of the AI Smoke Iron. We tested the five iron and the pitching wedge in both heads, providing a comprehensive review for golfers of all skill levels.

Standard AI Smoke Iron

The standard iron immediately catches the eye with its classic Callaway design. It instills confidence as soon as you lay your eyes on it. The solid feel and impressive ball speed off the face make it a trustworthy club. Even off-centre hits, such as hits from the toe, still deliver excellent ball speed. This technology ensures consistency and performance throughout the round.

During our testing, the seven iron produced a ball speed of 136 mph with a carry distance of 194 yards. The AI Smoke Iron exceeded expectations, proving to be a powerful option for golfers seeking distance and forgiveness.

HL AI Smoke Iron

The HL iron, designed for players who struggle with launch, offers a lighter graphite option for increased club head speed. This iron provides a higher trajectory, allowing players to achieve better height and distance. The HL iron achieved a ball speed of 130 mph with a carry distance of 193 yards. The HL iron is a great choice for golfers who need a little extra help getting the ball in the air.

Toulon Range Putter Features

So, what makes the Toulon range, Odyssey’s most premium putter? Well, let’s start with the face, they use Deep Diamond Groove Mill Pattern. This is deep full face grooves, which are designed to control sound and feel by channeling vibration. The face also features a medium depth double fly cut to enhance forward roll and feel. With this precise attention to detail,  this is the most consistent and best-rolling Toulon Design ever.

20 years of development marks the end of the titanium era. TaylorMade have now launched the new Stealth driver, equipped with the all new 60x Carbon Twist Face. A big change since last year’s SIM2 driver.

Noticeable with the stand-out red face, the new driver is 44% lighter than the equivalent titanium face, whilst also being 11% larger than the SIM2 and SIM2 Max. The face is made up of 60 layers of carbon fiber, which have been strategically designed to optimize energy transfer to deliver fast ball speeds over a large area, resulting in optimal distance and forgiveness. ~ TaylorMade.

What Are The Key Benefits?

  • 60x Carbon Twist Face | Creating more efficiency, increased ball speed and more forgiveness.
  • In the core Stealth driver, the weight has moved as a result of the new material weight loss. Moving lower and further back in the club. The centre of gravity has therefore changed, increasing the MOI by 15% in comparison to the Stealth Plus.

OUR VERDICT

AFGolf Store’s Jack Yetton, tested the product, focusing on the STEALTH driver. We did a straight comparison on the SIM2 with the results showing a ball speed increase of 3mph on average with an average of 10 yards distance gain. This was to be expected due to the efficiency of the carbon.

Here is what Jack had to say:

“It feels great and I love the results. There is clear forgiveness when I don’t catch it in the middle. What I enjoy is the traditional sound of titanium even though it is a carbon face. Overall a club I would feel confident in hitting under pressure.“
