A Quick Look at the New Cobra Putter Range

Today, we will be taking a look at the new Cobra range of Putters. In collaboration with HP, Cobra has introduced a 3D printed lineup and a vintage range of Putters, offering golfers more options to choose from. The new range comes with changeable weights, allowing for custom fitting, and features the descending Loft technology on the face for better strike and consistency in launch. Let’s dive into the details!

The 3D Printed Lineup

In partnership with HP, Cobra has ventured into 3D printing technology to create their new lineup of Putters. The 3D printed heads allow for greater manipulation of weight distribution, resulting in increased stability. What sets this lineup apart is the addition of changeable weights at the bottom of the head.

This innovative feature enables golfers to customise their Putters according to their preferences and playing style. Each 3D printed Putter comes with a weight pack, ensuring a personalised fit for every golfer.

The Vintage Range

Alongside the 3D printed lineup, Cobra has also released a vintage range of Putters. These Putters maintain the classic design elements that golfers have come to love while incorporating modern technologies for enhanced performance. Just like the 3D printed models, the vintage Putters feature the descending Loft technology on the face, ensuring optimal ball roll and consistent launch. With a variety of shapes and designs to choose from, golfers can find the perfect vintage Putter to suit their style and preferences.

Price and Value

While the new Cobra Putters may not come cheap, their price point is competitive considering the advanced technologies and features they offer. The 3D printed Putters retail at £299, while the vintage Putters are priced at £229. Cobra has made sure that every model in their range is priced similarly, providing golfers with affordable options regardless of their preferred style. Despite the higher price tag, these Putters deliver exceptional value and performance, making them a worthy investment for serious golfers.

Choosing the Right Putter

When it comes to choosing the right Putter, it’s crucial to consider factors such as shape, head design, and personal preference. As mentioned earlier, each golfer has unique needs and playing style, so finding the perfect fit is essential.

One popular choice among the Cobra Putters is the Grand Sport, known for its classic design and stability. With the addition of movable weights and a super stroke grip, the stability of the new range has been further enhanced. The Super Stroke 1.0 pistol grip comes as standard and ensures a comfortable and consistent grip for every golfer.

Final Thoughts

Cobra’s new range of Putters offers golfers a wide range of options to enhance their game. Whether you prefer the innovative 3D printed lineup or the timeless vintage Putters, Cobra has something for everyone. It’s important to give these Putters a chance and compare them to other well-known brands in the market. You might be surprised by the performance and feel they offer. So, the next time you’re in need of a new Putter, consider exploring the Cobra range and experience the difference for yourself.

Testing The New Odyssey Ai One Milled Putter

We’re testing the new Odyssey Ai One Milled putter following it’s release in November of 2023.

Odyssey have unveiled an exciting new addition to their putter lineup – the Ai One Milled. This premium putter combines Odyssey’s advanced artificial intelligence face technology with high-end milled construction.

Were able to get our hands on the new Ai One Milled and took it for an extensive testing session on the course. In this review, we will break down the technology, performance, look and feel of this impressive new putter.

Ai One Milled Technology Breakdown

– Milled from a single block of stainless steel for precision shaping and weight distribution

– Face insert made from a titanium alloy to optimize the Ai variable face thickness design

– Odyssey’s Ai computer model analyses tons of putt data to create the optimal face pattern for consistent speeds across the face.

– The pattern is unique to the titanium insert to maximize performance.

– Includes StrokeLab counterbalance shaft weighting – Weight added in the grip end of the shaft for improved balance

Testing

We tested the Ai One Milled and loved the results. The most noticeable result was the crisp, responsive feel at impact thanks to the firm titanium face insert. Provides outstanding audible feedback on all putts.

It offers impressive consistency on off-center hits. Mis-hits lose very little speed or accuracy due to the Ai tech, which is offering 24% more consistency in ball speed outcome. Adding to that, the putter rolls the ball smoothly and accurately on well-struck putts with great distance control.

The head shape and StrokeLab weighting create a very stable, balanced putting stroke and it’s easy to align properly with the beautiful contrast in the dark blue finish with the clear presented alignment lines.

On longer lag putts, the Ai Milled outperformed the competition in holding its line and maintaining speed, even on mishits across the face. At 20+ feet, this increased consistency was very noticeable.

Comparison to Standard Odyssey Ai One

The standard Ai One has a softer White Hot Microhinge insert – providing a quieter, softer feel preferred by some golfers, whereas the Ai Milled gives crisper feedback. Both however, offer consistency on off-center hits, which is a huge benefit to all golfers.

Both models roll the ball true thanks to the Ai technology, but the milled felt superior on longer putts, but that’s just a matter of preference. It’s definately worth trying both in a FREE custom fitting to make your own choice.

Available Models

Aesthetics and Custom Options

The Ai One Milled is a stunner with clean lines, a rich bronze finish on the face insert, and a high quality overall appearance with its PVD unique navy blue finish. It really screams premium!

Odyssey offers plenty of customisation options including different hosel designs, lengths, lie angles, grips, and customizable weights.

Conclusion

The Odyssey Ai One Milled checks off all the boxes – advanced tech for improved consistency, pleasing aesthetics, customisable options, and buttery smooth feel. It can compete with any premium milled putter on the market.

For golfers wanting to elevate their putting performance with a top-shelf milled putter packed with the latest innovations, the Ai One Milled is a phenomenal choice.

Putting The NEW Odyssey AI One Putter To The Test

We recently got our hands on the newest putter range from Odyssey. Two incredible models, years in the making that will shape the way putters are designed in years to come. We’re putting the NEW Odyssey AI One putter to the test.

This putter claims to utilise AI and machine learning to provide the most consistent and effective ball speeds across the entire putter face. Odyssey says it’s taken many years worth of data on player impact points and ball speeds to develop the specialised face patterns.

This new tech could be a game changer, so we took it for a spin on the course to see if it lives up to the hype.

First Look

At first glance, the AI One catches your eye with its sharp blue and white color scheme.

We tested the mallet style #7 head, which with its alignment lines, it felt very clear and easy to use.

While the tech story behind this putter is exciting, it still comes down to performance on the green.

One of the cool elements to this putter is the window on the sole of each style putter. This allows you to see the face from behind with the pattern printed from AI technology to give you, what Odyssey claim to be 24% improved dispersion in ball speeds.

Putting The NEW Odyssey AI One Putter To The Test

Immediately the AI One felt extremely soft off the face, reminiscent of the classic White Hot insert. Impact felt very smooth and consistent, even on mis-hits.

Ball speed stability was noticeable even on heel and toe strikes and distance control was excellent on longer putts. Roll and accuracy were impressive overall.

Ultimately with the heads appearing mostly the same, the big differences comes down to the sleek look and the obvious results in ball speed from central to off centre hits, due to the AI face inserts.

LEARN MORE HERE

Our Verdict

The AI One lives up to its promises. The combination of breakthrough technology and timeless Odyssey feel is a winner. Mis-hits stay online and reach the hole thanks to the face engineering and alignment aids are easy to use.

At just £250, this putter offers tremendous value with its space-age design. We give it a glowing score of 45/50.

Look – 9/10 | Feel 9/10 | Cost 9/10 | Custom Options 9/10 | Performance 9/10

Golfers of all levels should give the Odyssey AI One a roll – it could shave strokes off your game.

The Technology

Ai-ONE INSERT

Designed using Artificial Intelligence, we’ve created contours on the Aluminum backer of the insert which we co-mold to a White Hot Urethane striking surface to promote consistent ball speed across the face with the classic White Hot feel that Tour players and amateurs love.

Ai WINDOW

Our designers and engineers developed a Panlite window, which is a unique automotive grade polymer, that allows us to showcase the unique topology of the back of our insert.

SL 90 SHAFT

A lightweight steel shaft with 20-30 grams (depending on the grip) of counterbalance weight in the butt end. This is an evolution of our Stroke Lab weighting that will appeal to even more golfers.

UNIQUE NAVY BLUE PVD FINISH

These putters all feature a beautiful navy blue PVD finish that really sets them apart and gives them a premium look.

INTERCHANGEABLE FRONT WEIGHTS

Available in 5, 10, 15 and 20 grams these removable weights allow you to dial in your head weight to your exact preference.

Has Dustin Johnson Got A New Putter?

When you think of Dustin Johnson, you immediately think Taylormade and for many years now he has been strolling the greens with a Spider putter in his hands but it appears there is a change in the bag, Has Dustin Johnson got a new putter?

On July 8th AFGolfStore visited the Centurion Golf Club for the 2023 LIV London event. With some of the world’s best golfers in action we were keen to familairise ourselves with some of the fan favourites including 2 time Major Champion, Dustin Johnson who appeared to have replaced the Spider putter he’s become known for using to a new Taylormade model.

TAYLORMADE RESERVE

With Taylormade recently announcing the launch of their new premium putter range to rival the likes of Scotty Cameron, it would appear DJ is now playing the M21 edition.

An elevated Tour-proven design that delivers high MOI performance and elegant aesthetics. Sharp geometric lines reflect the technical precision of this classic mallet.

P SERIES SOHO FROM LA GOLF

As one of the lead ambassadors for LA Golf it is no surprise to see Dustin rocking a P Series shaft along with his own DJ series driver shaft.

Breaking Boundaries –LA Golf’s engineers developed a shaft-over-hosel putter offering. The first of its kind, the SoHo provides the same level of stability as the traditional P-Series and accentuates feel, removes undesirable vibration, and reduces putter head oscillation.

Putting analysis software has proven that torsional deflection occurs on longer putts. The P-Series reduces unwanted deflection, keeping your putt from deviating from its intended line.

Play Video

WATCH HERE: Check out the putter in action as DJ holes out for birdie in round 2 on his way to a round of six under par.

7 birdies on a storm threatened Saturday puts DJ 6 shots back on Cameron Smith going into the final round.

Change The Way You Roll With SIK By LA Golf

Change The Way You Roll With SIK By LA Golf – Finding the right putter can always be a struggle, with so many styles available, which one are you supposed to choose? To many golfers, it’s the least important on the list when buying new clubs, however with putting accounting for over 40% of the game, it’s crucial we select the right one.

One brand in particular have paved the way for change. It’s time to change the way you roll, with SIK by LA Golf.

UK'S LOWEST PRICE!

WHY SIK?

SIK created a new face technology to change the way you roll. It is called DLT, standing for Descending Loft Technology.

“Descending Loft Technology™ is our patented putter face technology. We have four flat surfaces that are milled into our putter face. Each plane descends in loft by 1° from the top of the face to the bottom of the face. When your shaft is pressed at impact the ball contact will be higher on the face, same is true in reverse. DLT delivers consistent launch angles from putt to putt which lead to more consistent and predictable rolls.” ~ SIK Golf

SIK’s reason for creating this came down to a common problem, NOBODY can match the shaft angle from address to impact at any consistent rate. This leads to inconsistent launch angles, which result in poor distance control. So, there solution was DLT, which delivers consistent launch angles regardless of shaft lean at impact which leads to more consistent and predictable rolls.

It’s not just the technology that’s making a difference, the feel is incredible as all putters are 100% CNC milled from 303 Stainless Steel bars. So EVERY putter is the same as you will see on the Tour.

WHAT MODELS ARE THERE?

SIK comes in 5 head styles with various options on the sight line position. The heads include:

  • PRO – The PRO is our signature design, the model most professionals choose. It’s a classic anser look. With every custom milled putter from SIK Golf, you can rest assured that the look, sound, feel, and most importantly, the performance meet and exceed the standards of touring professionals.
  • JO – The Jo is both a Tour and amateur favourite for its more pronounced swing weight. While slightly heavier than the Pro and Sho the Jo is slightly shorter than the Pro (from toe to heel.) With every custom milled putter from SIK Golf Putter, you can rest assured that the look, sound, feel, and most importantly, the performance, meet and exceed the standards of touring professionals.

  • DW – The DW is basically the Pro aesthetic (classic anser style) from address with double the width. This allows for the advantages of a mallet (MOI) with the look of a blade. The head weighs 390 grams with a Plumber’s neck, 360g with a Double Bend, 375 grams with a Slant neck.
  • SHO – The Sho is our mid-mallet. The half-moon shape affords the player a mallet-like view at setup while maintaining industry standard blade weighting: Around 370g with a Plumber’s Neck, 350g with a Double Bend, and 360 with a Slant Neck. With every custom milled putter SIK Putter you can rest assured that the look, sound, feel, and most importantly, the performance meet and exceed the standards of touring professionals.
  • FLO – The Flo takes its name from the refinement of our previous over-sized Mallet, the Mo. The Flo, while aesthetically unorthodox, is a definite performer with its high MOI and low and stretched out CG. The Flo is weighted at just over 415g with a Plumber’s Neck, 390 grams with Double Bend, or 400g with a Slant Neck setup.
  • NEW FLO M:

Each model can come with any of the four neck options which will support the weighting and style of your putter.

Introducing The NEW MONOBLOK Limited Edition Putters From Scotty Cameron

Only a matter of weeks after Scotty Cameron released their incredible Jet Set Limited Edition range, they have now released their next Limited range and we cant wait to get these putters in store!

Introducing the NEW MONOBLOK putters!

With a passion for creating putters that perform at golf’s highest levels, Scotty Cameron introduces the new MONOBLOK 6 and MONOBLOK 6.5 putters. Made in a limited run and inspired by the continued success of tour professionals playing previous generation GOLO models on the worldwide tours, these rounded mallets are reminiscent of GOLO designs, yet offer a new, sought-after head size in two, purpose-specific neck and shaft configurations. Inspired by an iconic automotive wheel crafted from a single block of metal, Scotty named these MONOBLOK to celebrate his tradition of milling putters from solid 303 stainless steel.

Designed, precision milled and assembled in the United States, each new Limited Release MONOBLOK putter incorporates Scotty’s customizable stainless steel sole weights, as well as an aluminum sole plate designed to optimize weight distribution, shifting weight to the perimeter of the putter head for balance, stability and forgiveness. ~ Titleist

MONOBLOK 6

With its rounded compact mallet shape based on earlier GOLO putters, the MONOBLOK 6 is sized in between the GOLO 5 and 7 models with a mid-bend shaft for a nearly face balanced setup. Precision milled from a single block of 303 stainless steel, the MONOBLOK 6 has an integrated sole plate machined from 6061 aircraft aluminum. Seamlessly fused to the body, this configuration allowed Scotty to design more solid stainless steel into the face and perimeter, increasing MOI, balance and feel. The limited release MONOBLOK 6 has a solid face, misted stainless steel finish, adjustable performance balanced stainless steel sole weighting and includes a Pistolero Plus grip and a MONOBLOK headcover.

MONOBLOK 6.5

With the same dimensions as the MONOBLOK 6, Scotty’s new MONOBLOK 6.5 was designed with a jet neck for players who favor a putting stroke with a bit of toe flow. The key to maintaining the same size, shape and overall head weight with a different neck is the integrated sole plate. Precision milled from 6061 aircraft aluminum and lightly misted with clear anodization, this engineered component allows the solid stainless steel to be distributed properly for increased MOI, balance and feel. The limited release MONOBLOK 6.5 has a solid face, misted stainless steel finish, adjustable performance balanced stainless steel sole weighting and includes a Pistolero Plus grip and a MONOBLOK headcover.

The MONOBLOK 6 and MONOBLOK 6.5 putters extend Scotty Cameron’s proven construction methodology of incorporating complementary materials to achieve desired performance characteristics. Each model employs a precision milled 6061 aircraft grade aluminum sole plate expertly designed into the 303 stainless steel putter head, which allows for higher MOI, optimal weight distribution, superior balance and excellent feel.

A contrast colour blocking theme will help golfers find a putter that produces the desired look, which we will take a look at.

10 MODELS

This year, PING are offering 10 models. All boasting a different look and feel. As always, there is a split between toe hang to face balanced and PING will always stress that when looking at their putters it is important you focus on the areas of your putting that need help to find the right putter for you. CONTRAST COLOUR BLOCKING

As well as having a selection of putters to choose from, the putters also vary in the colour scheme. Some are block black, whilst others have a solve face frame. This will be another feature that will helps golfers make a choice as some will enjoy looking at a perceived smaller head, in which case, black will create this effect, which was very popular with the PLD series.

Equally, you may prefer a bigger look, promoting more confidence over the ball, in which case silver will help! Performance benefits aside, they both look great!

ENGINEERED FOR FEEL

4 milled faces have been introduced this season, offering a different feel for each putter.

  1. Shallow milled, as seen in the above silver faced Anser offers a firmer feel with consistent ball speeds.
  2. Pebax insert with shallow milled surround offers a softer feel with consistent ball speeds. This can be seen in the above, all black Anser 2D.
  3. Pebax insert with smooth milled surround can be found in the Mundy, offering a softer feel.
  4. Smooth milled can be found in the Tomcat 4 offering the firmest feel and more ball speed!

The choice will rely on your preference of feel as well as the green speeds you are used too, for example the Tomcat 4 with a smooth milled face will benefit the golfer with more of a straight back, straight through stroke and tends to struggle with judging speed on slower greens, this will offer more stability in the head with increased speeds, meaning you leave the ball short, less!

MALLETS

  • Mundy
