How much does it cost to get fitted? Our Fittings are completely FREE. At our Peterborough store, which is located in Yaxley and not too far from top courses such as, Thorpe Wood Golf Club, Peterborough Milton Golf Club and Elton Furze Golf Club, you will be able to use the Trackman 4 technology to ensure you find the right equipment for your game at no cost.

Our fittings are carried out in our fitting studio with all the leading brands. We offer over 10,000 head, shaft and grip combinations from the Callaway, Mizuno, Ping, Titleist, Cobra and Taylormade. Our team will take you through a simple process.

  1. A Warm Welcome
  2. A current analysis of your equipment to provide a baseline
  3. Understanding your current equipment and finding out what is possible
  4. Testing of all new heads and shafts
  5. Measuring for length
  6. Measuring for lie angle
  7. Measuring for grip size and type
  8. Place of order through suppliers or our express build service
  9. Receive and phone call to collect your order

 

It is important that our PGA Professionals and Expert fitters take the time to ensure you get the correct equipment to help your game. We know the pain of spending money for poor equipment that not only can ruin your golf game, hurt your pocket but also kills your enjoyment.

Having been announced back in January and spotted in Kapalua, Hawaii for the Sentry Tournament of Champions event the highly anticipated release of the new Vokey SM9 wedge is now here.

At AFGolfStore we are proud to stock these wedges over all three stores – Cambridge, Peterborough and Milton Keynes.

Our Cambridge store has taken delivery of the new sure fit custom fitting kit, which has 4 heads and 17 shafts including Project X, AMT, Dynamic Golf, Tensei to name but a few. This will be a game changer on previous models allowing us to find the exact specifications to suit your game. We will also be including demo kits over all 3 stores to ensure each customer finds the right wedge for them, with the sure fit kit being available on special fitting events.

The follow on to this is we are delighted to be able to build SM9 wedges from our AF Golf Build Centre in our Peterborough store. An express service that can have your shiny new wedges to you from inside 5 days. With multiple loft, grind and shaft options you can get your clubs build now, following a FREE fitting or just by submitting your specifications.

So, what are the key design features for this year’s wedge?

  • TOUR-PROVEN GRINDS

For every shot, every lie, every course, there’s a grind fit for your swing. Vokey offer 6 grind options to help you find the perfect shot for you.

  • PRECISE DISTANCE & TRAJECTORY CONTROL 

SM9 takes SM8’s forward centre of gravity (CG) and raising it even further, promoting a more controlled ball flight and solid contact.

  • MAXIMUM SPIN / NOTHING SPINS LIKE A VOKEY

SM9’s new grooves are cut to the edge to maximize spin. Each Vokey wedge is 100% inspected for utmost quality and performance, and a localized heat treatment is applied to the impact area to double the durability of the groove.

·    SPIN MILLED GROOVES

SM9’s patented Spin Milled grooves are meticulously engineered through a new cutting process to maximize spin and durability. The process starts by cutting the face perfectly flat with a high-speed saw. Then every groove is individually cut based on loft and finish; low lofts (46°-54°) are designed with narrower, deeper grooves, while higher lofts (56°-62°) have wider, shallower grooves.

 

·    4 HEAD FINISHES

SM9 comes in 4 head finishes including, Chrome, Raw, Brushed Steel and Jet Black, all offering different feels.

At AFGolfStore we offer a range of services that we believe will help all golfers play their best. Golf lessons, honest advice and support, a wide retail selection fulfilling the needs of every golfer and of course our free custom fitting service.

Our custom fitting service is available over all of our sites and we strive to ensure our service in each store. Our fitting rooms come equipped with the following:

 

  • Trackman4 – The tour choice in radars when identifying key data from club and ball. Trackman helps us understand our customers specifications when looking to make technical changes or become equipped with new clubs.
  • A huge range of club choices and models. With access to all the leading brands and models in our studios, you will have no problem finding the right club for you.
  • Extensive choice in shaft and grips.
  • Indoor putting green with SAM PuttLab. A similar concept in Trackman for putting.
  • Most importantly, a friendly, honest member of our staff.

 

We take you on a journey to help you find the right clubs in an unbiased, honest manner. With so many in the industry charging for such a service with access to great technology, why don’t we charge?

  1. KNOW YOUR SPEC! We cannot stress enough that everyone is different, from size to how you swing a club, so how can anyone be certain a set of clubs straight off the rack is correct for them? In some cases, they may well be correct, but we can only be sure by getting to know your swing characteristics and ensuring we know what clubs suit your game.
  2. RELATIONSHIP! It is important to our staff that we build a relationship with our customers. Buying a set of clubs is a big decision and we want to give our customers peace of mind that they have a contact point should they need advice or further information.
